It is a great pleasure to find exceptional people to work with and make magic happen. I have been privileged to work with many wonderful people who have shaped me, my outlook and vision. My thanks to all my partners and particularly this partners below who have taken a moment to share their thoughts on our work.
I have worked with Roy Newey over a number of years and in a variety of exotic and not so exotic locations. Not only have I found him an excellent person to do business with and to partner, but also one of the best networkers I have come across. From India to South Africa, Poland to Spain, we have been able to undertake joint presentations together, promoting British business, modern and relevant service delivery and a sensitive tailoring of existing experience to local need and culture.
Roy is one of those people who can break down barriers both by demonstrating his grasp of critical detail, but also by a mischievous sense of humour. As a Scouser he can survive anything, anywhere!
Rt Hon David Blunkett MP
Secretary for State
Ministry of Education
I have worked with Roy for a number of years. He is passionate about his work. He is also a patient, resolutely and a genuine partner.
Martyn Warr Director of Trade and Investment UKIBC Iberia
Roy Newey joined the UKIBC Board in July 2009, but has been an active supporter of the UKIBC since the start of 2009. Roy contributes across the range of UKIBC activities, with his most telling contribution has been as Chair of the UKIBC-led UK
India Skills Forum. The aim of the Forum is to:
• Raise awareness of the offering of UK skills providers in India
• Raise awareness of the India skills opportunity amongst British skills providers, and those active elsewhere in the education supply chain
• To build partnerships between UK and Indian businesses
The Forum has been extremely successful since its inception last April, largely due to Roy’s strategic direction. The Forum now boasts a network of over 120 UK Skills Providers. The Group has generated a number of concrete business results for its members and participates in both inward and outward delegations and trade missions.
Roy has been instrumental in identifying those areas in the skills supply chain where British companies can have the greatest impact in India. Current projects include the drafting of a USP document for British Skills providers with regard to India, a plan for a consortia of Skills Forum members to upgrade a number of Indian Industrial Training Institutes and the submission to the Indian National Skills Development Corporation.

I have worked with Roy both in his capacity as an Non Executive Director for our business and also referred him on to our clients in the role of High Growth Coach. I have found his experience in overcoming the challenges facing fast growing businesses to be invaluable. As a Coach he is particularly great at increasing positive motivation to nudge the candidate to take a few more risks and be open to new options. He instantly develops strong rapport, has an excellent network of contacts and knows how to get success even from the most challenging situations.

Working with Roy gives me ultimate confidence as we move forward.
Roy is a master in business definition and what is needed and will always give the right steer whilst you move your business on.
David Stephenson The Digital College
I know we’re all meant to want to share the good things in life, but every now and again I feel a little reluctant. And I feel this about recommending Roy. He’s been my Chair in asaLeader for around 15 months now, and I can’t begin to describe how lucky I think I am. I KNOW that if I really need him for something, he will be there, giving wise counsel and then trusting me to do what I think is right. I also KNOW that the way he’s built, he always wants me to go away from a conversation with some practical ideas and contacts that I can draw on to build the business.
If a discussion goes on for more than 15 minutes, I will take away at least one Roy story that has a really powerful insight (and makes me laugh at the same time!) and at least two good ideas that can feed through to the bottom line. For any CEO/ Director ambitious to grown your business, this guy is gold-dust. However ambitious you are, you’ll need to go some to keep up with Roy. And in those moments when life knocks you down, he will be there to pick you up, brush you down, say you’re a star and he’s right behind you, and make sure you get back in that saddle. He’s a gem.
Please don’t try and nick him for too long. And if you engage him for anything, it’ll be one of those decisions of yours that you’ll never ever regret. Just accept that you’ll get hooked – and there are certain addictions in life that it’s best not to fight!
